Child Friendly Places in Cotswolds
Child Friendly Places in Cotswolds
School Summer Holidays are here, and this is prime time to go away with the family. We would not blame you for thinking that The Cotswolds, although beautiful and a wonderful place to explore historic villages and consume copious amounts of high tea, it does not have a broad selection of family friendly activities, but au contraire! The Cotswolds has plenty of activities for families of all ages and here we review just a small selection of the best places for you and your family to visit.
Tibbiwell Alpacas - Painswick
Tibbiwell Alpacas promises a wonderful day out for a family. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know these weird and wonderful animals. From experience, we suspect that you will form a bond with the alpaca assigned to you. Going for a walk with your alpaca alongside your family, through the stunning and historic village of Painswick is a treasured memory just waiting to be developed.
Stratford Park Lido Swimming Pool - Cheltenham
If you fancy a swim in a heated outdoor pool, then there is no better place to head to in The Cotswolds than the Lido in Cheltenham. A fantastic place to swim, play and enjoy the summer sun with the family. The Lido is extremely popular and so we recommend that you book your families swim before you arrive in The Cotswolds.
WWT Slimbridge – Slimbrdige
Wetland Wildlife Reserve in Slimbridge offers a space for children and adults to see a variety of wildlife in every season. This summer you can expect to see dragonflies, cranes, chicks, sedge warblers, reed warblers, green sandpipers, wood sandpiper, curlew sandpipers and much more. There is a lovely café on site called The Kingfisher Kitchen where you and the family can stop for lunch after a morning of wildlife exploration!
Jet Age Museum - Gloucester
A celebration of Gloucestershire’s rich aviation history, the Jet Age Museum is a fantastic place to visit with the family, especially for those who are interested in history and/or aviation. The Museum is run by two volunteers who have flown in aircrafts that are on display and thus have profound knowledge of the exhibits. The Museum is free entry, and they simply ask for a donation so that they may continue with their work.
Miserden Lake – Miserden
Miserden Lake is a little hidden gem in the Cotswolds. This is the perfect place for wild swimming and resting in a peaceful surrounding. Bring your family, a picnic and towels and enjoy this little bit of heaven right here in The Cotswolds.
VRXPERIENCE – Gloucester
Immerse yourself into a different reality – a Virtual Reality.
VR is a fun and exciting experience for a family of all ages. Compete against one another within a VR racing simulator, work together in VR escape rooms and have a thrill ride as a family on the VR rollercoaster. VRXPERIENCE is an extremely popular entertainment centre and an independent business. We strongly recommend booking your visit to VRXPERIENCE!
Pittville Park – Cheltenham
The best location for a family outing that does not require prebooking or parting with any cash; Pittville Park is a beautiful ornamental park just outside of Cheltenham town centre. The play area is extremely popular with children (big and small), as are the animals, the lakes, and the skating park. There three coffee stores in the park and rowing boats which you can hire for an hour with the family. This is a great and budget friendly place to visit with the family whilst staying in the Cotswolds.
There are many more family friendly activities that The Cotswolds has to offer and when you book with us, we can help you find the best things for you and your family to do during your stay. We have limited availability left for the summer holiday season, so book a Come & Stay holiday home and let us assist you in creating a Cotswolds holiday you will remember forever.
